Father Chohachi Nakamura is the first chief priest of Ogasari Church and is known as the apostle of Japanese immigrants in Brazil.
After pastoring in Amami for 25 years, he moved to Brazil and worked as a pastoral pastor for Japanese immigrants, where he died.
A beatification investigation is currently underway in Brazil.
